it was my first moharram at mehrauli...watched tazias and juloos......the enthusiasm and dedication of people while carrying the tazias and the emotions associated with the martydom of Hazrat Hussain pbuh on this day of Ashrae.....tazias i was told are replicas and depict lot of things metaphorically....like a symbol of hand...called Panja depicts the five important members of the martyred family....Alm depicts the flag they used to carry with the army....tazias design and the effort went into making them said it all ,about the devotion and passion associated with the martydom of innocent people at karbala, among the believers ....while everybody was seeing the juloos and being a part of the fervour.....i wondered that hazrat Hussain pbuh sacrifised his life in the name of Allah and for the just cause....what we should have carried forward were the teachings and the temperament that we should stick to what is right...come what may.....but we ended up drawing lines......
